The Panasonic NV-GS500 records directly onto affordable, popular and easy to use MiniDV tapes.
To ensure the best possible picture quality, the NV-GS500 is equipped with 3CCD camera system technology, Crystal Engine processing, OIS (Optical Image Stabiliser) and Leica lens. Most professional broadcast cameras use 3CCD technology to ensure superior colour reproduction, detail and gradation. The NV-GS500 uses the same advanced 3CCD technology to give you the same professional quality.
The Crystal Engine is a special image processing circuit for 3CCD camera systems. It processes the R, G and B signals from the three CCDs individually, so it gives both moving and still pictures exceptional quality. This innovative engine also achieves truly superb colour reproduction for high-zoomed pictures.
Panasonic's OIS (Optical Image Stabiliser) minimises the hand-shake that can be such a problem with handheld shots. It is especially useful for zoom shots and in dim lighting. Because the system is optical, there is no image quality degradation.
The NV-GS500 also features a Leica DICOMAR lens - developed specifically for digital video cameras by Leica and Panasonic engineers. This advanced lens captures clean, crisp, finely nuanced images with outstanding detail and contrast. Furthermore latest multi-coating processes were used in their manufacturing to reduce flare and ghost.
